I have been reading Yancey's book, "What Good is God?" It has stirred in me the idea of grace. He talks about Grace quite a bit in the book and faith. However, I realized that my idea of grace is shallow and limited. I would like to spend some time journeying through the idea of grace with you. However, I am going to need your help. I would like for those of you who follow to make this a conversation. I will do the bulk of the writing, most times. But I want you to use the comments section (Top Right of each post) to make this a conversation rather than a lecture. It doesn't matter if you have a theology degree or if you have never opened the Bible. Join the conversation. Christ isn't just for those who have studied the Bible, but for everyone who chooses Him and for all of those who have yet to choose him. So before I commit to beginning this journey, I would like for you to commit to joining me. Write in the comments section or if you are catching this on FB the comment section there and tell me you're in! Grace as I understand it right now is for us all and if it is His gift, it wouldn't be a bad idea to talk more about it. So, who's in?

I like the way my Catholic friends say, "It was grace..." acknowledging the giftedness of something totally unexpected, knowing they did not "manufacture" it - didn't even specifically pray for it nor imagine it and can take no credit for it. Kinda like "to God be the glory, great things He has done".

I remember the exact moment I realised that it was something God gave and it didn't involve me "working my way to heaven", and "asking for forgiveness the second before I died"! It was All about God!

Michael MercerI like to explore different things about theology and the life of the church. You might also find things here about me and my family. Prayer Requests:God Is... by Michael Mercer
God Is... -God is... is a book that takes a look at Genesis and portrays six true images of God. There are many ways we think about God that are unhealthy and even destructive. These six images help turn our attention to who God really is and how we might follow him more closely. Click the Lulu button below to download your copy! Categories
