And Now Summer is over!

My blogging has taken a break.  And while that has bothered me some, the summer travels at Mach 3 and I basically hang on for the ride.  I will say this...there have been some experiences this summer that have forever changed my life and I hope to use this blog to give you some insight into those.  Here is a quick run-down of the summer:

• Oriented Interns: They did an awesome job this summer!  Thanks Randy, Wade, and Morgan
  
• Breakthrough:  Weekend Middle School Retreat where we made like a tree and discovered our roots (those who have led our journey), our trunk (Jesus), our branches (acts of service and mission), and our fruit (the point of the kingdom).
  
• Impact:  Middle School Boys Mission trip to inner-city Houston
• Short Vacation with my family to Houston and the area
• Memphis, TN:  served the homeless, became homeless, served some more
• Crossover:  High School Weekend Retreat where we found fellowship...in the ring!
• Interns departed:  Sad to seem them go
• School Starts:  This is busier for a youth minister than you think.  We were preparing and getting everything oriented for another school year

So what now?  I will be back to blogging, exploring church and theology and  pastoring over 200 families.  Oh yeah and I'm the new head coach for my boys 3 year old soccer team (I have to do something to keep my prayer life going).

I'm looking forward to re-engaging this blog and sharing with you how God is shaping his church.
