There are very few days left until the end of the year and I am behind on a few of this year's goals. I set a goal to write 50 blogs in 2015. So far this post will make 39. I'm 11 away from my goal. I set a goal to read 15 books this year and I am 3 books from my goal. I set a goal to create a gratitude journal for each week. I didn't even start that one. So the question is, do I post 11 more blogs simply to say I reached my goal and do I engulf myself in the 3 books I have started and yet to finish to reach my goal of 15. Yes and No. Yes because I gave myself my own word and that should mean something. And No because the goal was set not merely to reach an achievement, but to help me grow professionally. So the real question is, did I grow this year? Well in all respects I think I did. The 12 books I have read have opened my mind and given me something to think about and some have even changed my views or at least tweaked them. The goal of the blog posts are an outlet for writing. I love to put thoughts out there. I do this every Sunday in spoken word from the stage, but this gives me a chance to write something and then take it back and then finally hit publish and hope it helps someone else. In the end I will work swiftly to achieve my 2015 goals. This will be more out of keeping my word, but in the process I will learn and grow just the same. I'm also betting that these will be shorter posts.
I like to explore different things about theology and the life of the church. You might also find things here about me and my family.
God Is... -God is... is a book that takes a look at Genesis and portrays six true images of God. There are many ways we think about God that are unhealthy and even destructive. These six images help turn our attention to who God really is and how we might follow him more closely. Click the Lulu button below to download your copy!
