I have never been one who has made New Year's resolutions. However, I do understand the idea that the New Year brings new ideas, new resolves, and new beginnings. Some people have had the worst year in their life and 2011 brings hope of a new start and a better year. However, others have had one of the best years of their life and 2011 brings the expectation that life is going to be good again.
God was no stranger to New Beginnings. He created and then created female. He banished humanity from perfection, then began them on a new course of redemption. He flooded the whole earth and then hit the restart button for the world. He brought himself into the world through human form. He then gave the ultimate new beginning by raising Jesus from the dead and establishing grace on earth.
I'm looking forward to 2011 and the new beginnings that God has in store for me, my family, and His church! I really believe that his mercies are new every morning. Every day brings a new way to worship God and serve others.
This isn't about what 2011 brings, it is about what God brings...every day!
